The government funded Crosbie House was closed in March, 2003. It had operated for 24 years and treated more than 4000 Nova Scotians for drug and alcohol addictions. The program was based on sound, proven practices similar to other noted structured treatment programs throughout North America .

The Society was created by a volunteer group of medical, business and legal professionals in Partnership with some of Nova Scotia 's largest corporations. With additional support from Martha Crosbie and the Crosbie Memorial Trust we were able to open our doors to deliver a private professional 12 step total abstinence program to people suffering from addiction in June 2006.

Today Crosbie House Society is self-sufficient, networked with the largest addiction treatment centres in North America and  has achieved an international standard of accreditation through CARF. Client satisfaction with the new program is over 99%. Accolades from community groups, business, elected representatives and clients are a matter of public record.

The Crosbie House Society is incorporated under the Societies Act of Nova Scotia (Registry #3087978) and is a registered charity (Business #85741 5806 RR0001)
